Every machine relocation is carefully planned in advance. In planning and cost estimation, we consider these seven points, among others:
1. Machine details and scope of relocation
- What machine is involved? (Brand, model, size, weight)
- Is a single machine being relocated or an entire production line?
- Is there a need for disassembly and reinstallation of the machine?
- Is the relocation a short-distance internal change, or is the machine being moved to another production facility or even another country?
2. Current and new location
- Are there obstacles in the current location that could complicate the relocation? (Low ceilings, tight spaces, difficult-to-access doorways)
- Are the necessary electrical, water, and ventilation connections ready in the new location?
- Is the floor load capacity sufficient in the new location?
- Is new layout planning required?
3. Are additional services needed?
- Electrical and automation installations
Is there a need for machine reconnection, software reconfigurations, or test runs? - Safety
Are new safety solutions needed, such as safety fences or sensors? - Spare parts and maintenance
Is it advisable to perform preventive maintenance or modernization during the relocation?
4. Schedule and production interruption
- When can the relocation be carried out, and how long can it last?
- Can the relocation be executed without production interruption, or is contingency time needed for outages?
- Does the relocation schedule need to be coordinated with other ongoing projects?
5. Required permits and safety regulations
- Are special permits needed for the relocation?
- Are there safety risks associated with the relocation, such as heavy lifts or hazardous materials?
- Is special equipment needed, such as cranes, forklifts, or special transports?
6. Insurance and liabilities
- Who is responsible for any damages during the relocation?
- Is the machine being relocated insured, and does the insurance cover the relocation?
- Does the service provider have sufficient insurance and certifications for safe execution?
7. Scope of service, costs, and savings
- What does the service include? (Relocation work, installation, necessary accessories, testing, documentation)
- Could there be additional costs?
- What savings can be achieved, for example, in conjunction with equipment modernization?
